Full day Romantic Get-away

You and your partner can enjoy the romantic
solitude of the Chianti region. After leaving Florence
we can visit one of the famous Italian Gardens of the Renaissance
we can go to the small artisan workshops where you can
become familiar with the creative process of Tuscan art.
Tuscany gave birth to many of the renaissance artists
such as Michaelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci and I can show you why.
We can tour small artesian studios and I can arrange classes
in cooking, painting, pottery, or you can even learn how to make
mosaics. To finish the day I can arrange a candle light
dinner at a hidden restaurant, or a bottle of wine in middle of
rural hills during the sunset. Then I can either take you back to
Florence or to a cozy local bed and breakfast.
Full day family tour – 7 hours
Historical/Gourmet
I
will pick you up from Florence in the morning in
a comfortable minivan where we should share a cappuccino to meet
each other and discuss the rest of the day. We then travel from
Florence to the Chianti Region arriving at the Certosa di
Galuzzo monestary where a monk will administer a tour that
includes a pinacoteca a gallery of Renaissance painting) where we
can spend some time then we can go to Machivelli's house where he
was exiled from the Medici family. After walking around this historic
place we can either decide to go on a picnic, where children would
be able to run and play, or to a tuscan trattoria (a common family-style
restaurant), or we can even enjoy lunch at a local, yet famous,
cheese factory. After lunch we then can go to visit one of many
traditional wineries in the area,
where we can taste wine and learn about the intricate process of
wine making first-hand. We can have an afternoon coffee in one of
rustic villages where you can experience rural Italian life and
explore some artesian stores and markets, and then from there I
take you back to Florence.
What I want to emphasize is that this tour, is
that we would be going to places usually not visited by tourists,
there won't be any big buses, or flashing lights, or tour directors
limiting your time spent any any of these locations. If you want
to spend more time looking at art than seeing Machiavelli's house
then we can, in the end, its up to you. This is just an example
itinerary to give you an idea of what is possible, not what is definitive.
Full day outdoor tour
|
|
Lets say that you are a group of young adults
who are interested in more vigorous outdoor activities.
After leaving Florence we can go:
Swimming - There are a lot of hidden lakes in the
chianti region where we could go swimming. These lakes are
small, quiet and located around the different vineyards. |
|
Horseback riding –
for people who already know how to ride horse, we could go
to a local horse farm and go riding along scenic trails. |
|
Explore the Via Francigena–
The Via Francigena is a historic road to Rome for pilgrims
that winds its way through the chianti region. We can spend
time walking along this lesser known, but more unique trail
and discover ancient European history. |
|
Explore Italian History –
There are many historical sites operated by private archaeologists
where we might take a walking tour for a couple hours inside
to not just discover, but be part of the discoveries of Etruscan
archeology which are 2800 -2500 years old. You can learn a
great deal through this intimate contact with ancient history
that books could never teach you. |
|
After all of this we can bring food for a picnic or go
into one of the many small towns to eat some lunch, and
then go do some wine tasting at a local family vineyard
or well known larger vineyard before going back to Florence
at the end of the day.
